Steelworks

The Steelworks has an annual capacity to melt 121,700 tons of scrap metal, yielding 108,700 tons of billets and 100,000 tons of cast products. Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery from leading Japanese manufacturers such as Nissei and Mitsubishi, the facility ensures high efficiency and superior product quality.

To expand its product range, enhance business operations, and meet domestic demand, the company commissioned a forging steel ball plant in 2017. This facility, utilizing advanced German and Italian technology, has an annual production capacity of 25,000 tons of forged steel balls.

Tumurtolgoi Mine

The Tumurtolgoi Iron Ore Mine, our company’s first mining operation, is located in Khongor soum, Darkhan-Uul province, just 28 km from Darkhan Metallurgy.  The mine holds an estimated reserve of 25 million tons of iron ore.

With an annual extraction capacity of 2 million tons, the mine produces ore with an Fe content of 42-45%. Processing is carried out using advanced mining equipment from the USA, Germany, and China. The dry magnetic separation plant has a production capacity of 1.3 million tons of concentrate per year, yielding final products in 0-10 mm and 10-40 mm grain sizes with an Fe content of 55-58%.

Tumurtein Iron Ore Mine

The Tumurtein Iron Ore Open-Pit Mine, located in Khuder soum, Selenge province, is situated 130 km from Darkhan Metallurgy. With estimated reserves of 229.3 million tons, it is recognized as one of Mongolia’s strategic deposits.

Mining operations commenced in October 2014, starting with the eastern section of the deposit. Today, the western and eastern open pits extract a combined 2 million tons of ore annually. The ore is processed using state-of-the-art dry magnetic separation technology imported from the United States, ensuring efficient and high-yield processing. The plant has the capacity to produce 1.3 million tons of 0-10 mm and 10-40 mm iron ore concentrate per year, with an iron content of 58-62% Fe.
